There is a discussion going on on Townhall about whether to vote for the Republican nominee this next election, or just not pull the lever for the presidential choice, and let Hillary or Obama take the reigns.
I can understand the reasoning behind this thought to a certain extent, but I have never been one to give the dems the vote by default by not voting for my candidate, and I don't plan to in 08. Let me explain.
I always work hard for the conservative cause, and I was thrilled when Reagan won. I have worked for every conservative issue, walked precincts, made phone calls, whatever I've had to do to get conservative priorities in the forefront and win. We have challenges we must face head on and we must keep fighting. The key is, I will not surrender and do exactly what the dems want, and give them the vote by default. I don't remember anytime when we have had a perfect government, though we have made strides, and were continuing to move forward, until we gave up in the last election and caved to the pressure and attacks from the Left, with the help from the MSM propaganda.
We are living in perilous times, and as I commented on another blog, the terrorists had a plan to destroy our government and our economy, by hitting the WH, the Capitol, the pentagon and major cities in the US. If they had succeeded, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now on TH. Who would have imagined that a few visa violaters would have brought down the Trade Center Towers in NY? They could have killed 25 thousand, rather than 3 thousand, if things had gone differently. If Green Al or John Swift Boat Kerry had been president, we would probably be in chaos right now.
With the dems in power, they will wrongly believe the world will love us, they will pull back from the war on terror, and we will see not only another attack, but probably suicide bombers in our cities blowing up our loved ones. Does anyone doubt that the terrorists want to destroy the infidels, meaning liberals, conservatives, independents, whoever won't bow to their god?
I am going to work for the most conservative person on every level, to help bring back sanity to our halls of government. And when I go to vote, I will vote for my side. Our side is not the enemy. I refuse to be a suicide voter.
Let's work hard, and let's win! And let's not cave and do the dem's work for them!
The GOP is still the best hope for America, may God grant us victory!
