A Beauty Greater Than a Rose.

Just as the rose bush is once a thorny vine,
That bursts into color in spring,
So was Christ, in thorns, a lifeless vine,
On a cross my sins did bring.
But that day, that day in Spring,
Eternal life burst forth,
As Christ shed the thorny crown,
His beauty unfolding like the petals on a rose,
To bloom eternally in my heart,
'Till that day when I, in his presence see,
That beauty greater than a rose,
The one who died for me.
