In the movie "It's a Wonderful Life", the beloved Jimmy Stewart Christmas classic, George Baily (Jimmy Stewart) has a nightmare. He suddenly realizes he is living in a world where he and his conservative values never existed, and the chaos that exists as a result is incomprehensible.
As I look at the political landscape , the ramifications of this election, and the possible devastating effects of the presidential election in 08, I feel strikingly like George Baily in that dream.
I'm concerned that we may not understand the full extent of the damage done November 7, and what our future would look like in 08, if the Left controlled both the House, the Senate, and the White House.
What would the world look like if all that we have worked for the past 12 years suddenly were reversed, and it were as though the conservative accomplishments never happened?
We could wake up in the nightmare of a Kyoto Treaty, new global warming restrictions, dictatorships around the world treated as "co-superpowers", terrorism running rampant globally , the economy in the tank, and taxes at the highest levels in history. And that is just the beginning of the nightmare.
I wonder if we understand the high stakes of the dream becoming reality?
