It looks like business as usual in Washington, as disarrayed democrats scramble for an election talking point. The AP headlines "Democrats seize on intelligence report" is descriptive of a desperate Democrat Party on the decline.
The AP continues: "They (democrats) say it's finding that the war in Iraq has increased the threat of terrorism means a leadership change is needed".
Never mind that the "report" was " a collection of statements sent to reporters amid the disclosure of a National Intelligence Estimate"...in other words... cleverly selected statements...and there's the obligatory "intelligence official...who spoke on condition of anonymity confirming the accounts first published in Sunday's New York Times and Washington Post"...
The AP report goes on to say "A White House spokesman, Blair Jones said, "We don't comment on classified documents". But he said the published accounts' "characterization of the NIE is not representative of the complete document"... Bush's national intelligence director John Negroponte in a statement said ..."The conclusions of the intelligence community are designed to be comprehensive, and viewing them through the narrow prism of a fraction of judgements distorts the broad framework they create".
These leaks are undermining our war on terror, and giving our enemy aid and comfort.
I have a question. Who is leaking classified reports, and when are we going to do something about it?
